Hidden in the middle of San Jose, California is one of the best, if not the best, sushi restaurant I have ever been to: Yuri Japanese. And trust me, I have tried for years to find another sushi restaurant that could rival Yuri’s but I have yet to find one! It is a local favorite that I can’t help but continue to go back to. Yuri’s is a family-owned and operated restaurant. Jong, the father, named the restaurant after his wife Yuri in 1986 and it is now being run by Jong’s sons Paul and Danny. As soon as you walk in you’re greeted as if you’re part of the family. The staff is always so kind, and you can either sit in a private booth or sit at the sushi bar and talk with Paul or Danny as they prepare your sushi right in front of you. I would recommend getting the Silver Creek roll, it’s one of my favorites! The diced tuna and yellowtail mixed with the spicy wasabi sauce is to die for. Whenever I go home to San Jose, Yuri’s is a must on my list of things to do!
